I have always wanted to be a writer, and that shouldn’t be surprising coming from someone who’s entire worldview has been cultivated through poetry and novels. Storytelling is central to any piece of art – my preferred medium just happens to be words.
My interest in art and design has always been a part of my life but I never had the desire to make a painting or a beautiful dress. I liked appreciating them and talking about why I liked them but I never felt the need to make something myself. This confused me because what else were you supposed to do with this obsession? Discovering that there is a field of study called fashion journalism felt like my wildest dreams had come true – I get to express my thoughts about other people’s creations and call it work!
